I hinted there was another benefit to bothering benevolent boiler maestros while they’re getting their grub on.

Did you spot it?

It was in this line:

“Suffice to say I ALWAYS have at least TWO radiator bleeding keys in the house and I know EXACTLY where they are”

You see, even though Bill Ward wasn’t my teacher, mentor, guru, or my own personal plumbing Mr. Miyagi, by telling me exactly what I needed to do…

… he taught me something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

Not only did he solve my pressing problem… he solved ALL MY FUTURE PROBLEMS (well, the drippy boiler ones that can be sorted with a radiator key anyway).

Here’s the lesson:

You don’t need a teacher to get better at something.

I guess it comes down to that cocky phrase:

“Watch and learn, kid…”

If you want to create better marketing – marketing that SELLS – getting someone to critique your stuff is an easy win – they do the hard work and you end up knowing how to make it better.

It’s kinda like painting by numbers.
