If watching RedTube learning the Djembe drum has taught me anything, it’s that keeping up the same rhythm can get monotonous.

Once in a while, it’s good to shake things up a bit.

(Dear god – a RedTube gag, a shake weight gag AND blaspheming in the opening paragraphs. I think I just used up my smut quotient for the entire year!)

“…but if I start emailing more often, won’t I piss off my fierce and loyal subscribers?”

Yes, but only if:

1. You’re emailing from a place of ego – only doing it as a tactic to score hot babes (it’s a well-known fact that ladies can’t resist the charms of a daily emailer!)

2. You don’t offer anything of value. You’re only emailing because “it’s Saturday and I haven’t emailed yet…”.

2. The extra emails are nothing but blatant, bold and “bleurgh!” sales pitches.

You CAN have too much of a good thing, but… 

… if you keep up the quality of your emails – emails that “zero in” on the needs of your people – you will NOT piss off your subscribers by emailing more often.

Yes, I know you don’t believe me, but it’s true.

We’re biologically wired so that when we see this…

… our butts clench with fear.

Too. Much. Email.

Don’t let the “Inbox Zero” virtue signallers put you off.

What? You’re afraid your inbox is going to be peppered with responses like, “I’m sorry, but you’re pissing me off now – you’re delivering TOO much helpful information. Any chance you could drop your value bombs less often?” 

(Side note – Please send me that email!)

You want to show up for your people and do good work.

You want to serve them better – to give them more of the good stuff… stuff that will help make their lives better.

You want to do this more often.

These are all good things.

It shows you care about your craft, the impact you have on the world and, more importantly, your audience.

If you had a nasty wound on your leg and the nurse offered to come round to dress it every day, you wouldn’t say:

“No, that’s OK. That’s a little too much healing for my liking. Let’s keep it at once a month, please… and if you could pass that on to the Gangrene clinic too, that’d be great…”

Don’t be shy about showing up more often for your people.

They clicked “subscribe” because they realised they had a problem, needed help and chose YOU to help them with it.

You have nothing to apologise for.
